Artist Statement~

I am a materialist.  I use wood, clay, metal, plastic, or any other resources within my reach to fabricate installations that excite our innate relationship with the environment. In narrating a story through the use of these materials, I seek to create a mesmerizing experience - one associated with spectacles of colors and fascinating textures. My concrete kingdom introduced me to the superficial representation of Mother Nature's children. While suburbia leaves little space for nature to thrive, the flowers between the cracks in the sidewalk showed me the resilience of the environment. My artistic path is an exploration of the divine equilibrium between what is natural and unnatural. My work facilitates a child-like sense of marvel and whimsy, while also addressing covert undertones that confront our evolving climate catastrophe and other human-made issues. I reflect on the need to be resilient to adapt to the changes and challenges we now face.
